Earlier this year, Rotary International President-elect Stephanie Urchick announced that the 2024-25 presidential theme is The Magic of Rotary.
“The Magic of Rotary can encourage whatever drives your local clubs. You can “grow The Magic of Rotary,” if you’re adding new members to our family. You can “unlock The Magic of Rotary” if you’re unlocking the power of women and girls. You can “advance The Magic of Rotary” if you’re fundraising to help change the world”

Following the words of RI president elect, Oslo International Rotary Club is entering the new Rotary year with amazing plans, many of them already started, with fantastic growth and development possibilities for its members, for its old friends and new friends, with great ambitions of making an even more relevant difference than before both locally and internationally through our work, and with the pride and confidence of having an increasingly more important role in the environment and dynamic of the Rotary community in our District. Here are just some of the highlights of the next Rotary year in our Club:
- This year, our Club received its second graduate from the Rotary Leadership Institute. With an increasing leadership competence, we are looking forward to launching and developing even more valuable projects and contributing in even more comprehensive ways to the work in our District; in addition, starting from the Rotary year 2024 – 2025, our Club’s member Irina A. Tanase will join the organizational team of the Rotary Leadership Institute in our District.
- Following the Annual General Meeting in our Club at the end of last year, OIRC will become a contributor to The Rotary Foundation starting with this year, thus being able in the future to both contribute to Rotary’s international work with eradicating polio, and access more resources for more impactful projects
- At the beginning of June, a delegation of our Club formed by Siri Joli and Besir Isakovic, together with a delegation from Maridalen Rotary Club, has attended a meeting with representatives of Coretta and Martin Luther King Institute, in Oslo. The King Institute presented its projects and work, and it was with great joy for our Club to find common values, and inspiration in their work, both locally and internationally. Their efforts go to youth, human rights, work with refugees, dialogue work, and education and research. We are looking forward to continuing communication with the Coretta and Martin Luther King Institute, and to explore together means of collaboration.
- Recently, a new series of seminars for facilitators in Club Visioning has been announced, for several Rotary Districts, which also include District 2310. Earlier this year, our Club’s members Irina A. Tanase, graduated the training as Club Visioning facilitator, and she is looking forward to contributing her competence to the upgrade and development of club strategies in our District. If you are a Rotarian interested in making an even more impactful difference through the Rotary work in our District, taking these seminars might be something for you. And finally, in January 2025 our Club will visit our dear students enrolled in the Oslo International Rotary Club Scholarship, at the Sylhet Agricultural University. It will be amazing to get to know them even better; their culture, their ambitions and dreams! Stay close for updates and more information!
