The little difference that we do every day, might change the world

January:
The objective of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise. We began this year with the month of Vocational Service.
Each January, clubs all over the world draw attention to the importance of developing and maintaining high ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society. To mark this special time, our Club received the visit of Olya Basista, a gestalt therapist and mental coach from Ukraine who has earlier attended our Club’s mentoring program. Now living in Oslo, Olya has established the Academy of Growth, an organization with the mission to boost motivation and self-esteem and unleash the potential of individuals. Her initiative is a true inspiration, showing how big of a difference each of us can make through our own work! February:
The Rotary month of February celebrates Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention. Per O. Aukner, from Eiksmarka Rotary Club and representing the Rotary Peace Fellowship in District 2310, visited OIRC and gave us a detailed presentation of the Rotary Peace Studies Programs. Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Centers program develops the capacity of Peace and Development professionals to become effective catalysts for peace. The fellowships cover tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, and internship and field-study expenses. The deadline for applying for the program is the 15th of May, so please contact our district if you want to know more about it.
We are looking forward to the next months to come and follow up on our own commitments!
